To all the Brothers of Peninsula Lodge #99, I extend my compliments on the wonderful website. Many lodges do not have websites which makes it a little difficult to find lodges in certain areas when traveling. If I am ever in the New Jersey (Bayonne) area I will be sure to stop by. I also enjoyed your photo album....it is always great seeing brothers working.

Peninsula Lodge No.99 Blood Drive October 7, 2010:
On Thursday, October 7, 2010, from 3 pm until 8 pm, Peninsula Lodge No.99 will be holding a blood drive at Peninsula Lodge No.99 located at 888 Avenue C in Bayonne. It is on the corner of 40th Street and Avenue C. Snacks and juice will be served. The Blood Center of New Jersey will be conducting the blood drive along with the assistance of Peninsula Lodge No.99.
Health officials are asking prospective donors to bring signed or picture identification and to know their Social Security numbers. All blood types are welcome. Anyone who is physically able and is at least 16 years old are welcome to donate blood. In order to prevent donors from being weak after giving blood, drive organizers are asking donors to eat a meal beforehand.
Health professionals will screen prospective donors before blood is drawn. There will be a free cholesterol check for all blood donors.
The Blood Center will be working on the incentive program (gas cards or something else) I will post the incentive as soon as I know.
I will have info on bone marrow donations, organ donor registration, and other health related info as well.
For more information, call the Blood Center of New Jersey at 1-800-NJ-BLOOD, Ext. 140.

Brothers,
On June 3,2010, Peninsula Lodge 99 will be hosting a blood drive
between 3pm-8pm. NJ Blood Bank Just informed me that they will be
issuing $15.00 gas cards with each donation! So Please come and
support the blood drive and save a life.
I have heard so many times I can't give blood or they don't want my
blood. I use to be the same way and said the same exact thing. I
started out with helping those who ran the drives, then I started
running them myself, then I started donations 2 times a year at our
drives, then I started platelet dontions, then I started visiting
other lodges and made donations, now I make double platelet donations
every 21 days in the West Orange blood bank. I would have never done
this on my own. I need to thank Brother Addesso for having enough
faith in me to ask me to help out and eventually run it! Thank you to
Brother Kinigstein for always guiding me as the district blood drive
co-ordinator! Thank you to Brother Petrakian for setting me up and
allowing for a smooth turn over. Without your help I wouldn't be doing
this!
Thank you to the Brothers and their families for regular donations.
It's glad too see many of the same faces. Now it's time for our older
memebrs to donate and the newly initiated passed and raised Brothers
to pull up their sleeves and help save a life!
I have experienced many good feelings about myself since joining the
mighty 99, and blood donation dosent get any better!
You may be a master at ritual or just someone who sits on the
sidelines, you may be an avid club event supporter and never miss an
event and I commend you for your dedication! My intention is not to
disrespect or be repetitive but to encourage the Brothers to donate
"life".
I want to walk away from this knowing that the people who inspired me
were the ones that help me inspire you!
Please help our lodge and make this blood drive our best! Even if you
can't donate stop by and fill out the paperwork you never know what
can happen. The worst is you can't donate and your theory was correct,
at least we'll get credit for an attempt! The best thing that can
happen when you donate...you will get a hearty handshake from me and a
thank you, some juice and cookies and a complete feeling of greatness!
Oh yeah and a 15 dollar gas card!
So please donate, or at the least help me paper Bayonne with blood
drive signs.

Brothers of Peninsula Lodge No. 99:
I am asking for your assistance helping a Brother Mason of this Lodge. Currently, Brother Antonio Rivera is deployed overseas defending the United States in the ongoing war on terrorism. Brother Antonio Rivera is a military police officer with the Department of Defense. Brother Antonio Rivera is married and has children. I spoke with his wife, Danielle, and she is holding up as best as can be expected.
I am asking for your help to send some comforts of home to Brother Antonio Rivera. I will have a box at the Lodge (located in the Club room) that will be labeled with his name on it. I will have the box available on evenings of Lodge communications and other nights we gather. I will send the collected items as I receive them.
Brother Antonio Rivera did not ask for our help, but we should stand together as a Lodge and help Brother Antonio Rivera regardless. I can say (as well as any other veteran) from experience that care packages are a welcomed bit of mail. If you cannot come by the Lodge and are in Bayonne, I will travel to you. I will also travel to collect items at a reasonable distance.
Any item you donate will be sent, however, no glass bottles, perfumes, medication or alcohol of any type are allowed to be shipped. A nice short note is also encouraged.
Brothers, I would like to say in advance, thank you for your assistance. I am sure Brother Antonio Rivera will be overjoyed to receive a care package or two (or more I hope)from his Brothers of Peninsula Lodge No. 99 and other Lodges.
